Il Barbiere Nascosto is Italian for “the hidden barber”. The name is not chosen randomly, since the salon is created without any street signage, in complete privacy, and bookings can be made by members only. 

The idea behind the concept, however, is not elitist. Instead we are a couple of friends who decided to create an oasis, the way we ourselves believe such a place should be. 

Our original inspiration was historical. When barbering was introduced to Italy 296 BC by Greek colonies, they created “angoras”, which today have affirmed their place into Italian society as what we know as barber shops. These were once locations of open debates voicing public concerns and engaging citizens in public discussions about contemporary issues. Few centuries later we have created our private version of an angora - a relaxing and cozy environment to continue what should not be lost from our society

Ourselves, we love things that are unique and personal, not pretentious and anxious. We want to be able to treat ourselves to a professional haircut, a shave, and/or a revitalizing scalp massage. We’d like to be able to chat with friends, make new friends, and/or hang around after a treatment and enjoy an espresso, read the paper, etc. But we also want to be able to offer true escapism, in the shape of for example our unique Gianluca sessions...  

To summarize:  we don’t believe in the Swedish notion of “jante”, and we think that life is too short for non-optimal experiences, bad cigars and compromises.
